He is a self-made man: Shah Rukh Khan might be earning in hundreds of crores now but before entering the tinsel town, he was a regular boy of a middle class family living in Delhi. He was 15 years old when his father passed away due to cancer; his treatment had been expensive due to which their family business collapsed. Shah Rukh’s mother worked day and night to build the business back but never insisted that her son follow her into it. He once tried his hand at a small restaurant business in Dariya Ganj but couldn't succeed. You'll be surprised to know that his first salary was Rs 50 which he earned by working as an usher at Pankaj Udhas's concert in Delhi. He then came to Mumbai and started his career with a small advertisement assignment. When he signed Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa as an actor, he completed the entire film for Rs 25,000 only. Even on the opening day, he sold this film's tickets at the booking window of a Mumbai cinema.
